How to stay young

HOW TO STAY YOUNG

1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay 'them'
2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.

3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever.. Never let the brain idle.. 'An idle mind is the devil's workshop.' And the devil's name is Alzheimer's.

4. Enjoy the simple things.

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.

6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves.. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

7. Surround yourself with what you love , whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge..

8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.

10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER :

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

We all need to live life to its fullest each day!!

Worry about nothing, pray about everything!

The Eagles

The nest of young eagles hung on every word as the Master Eagle described his exploits. This was an important day for the eaglets. They were preparing for their first solo flight from the nest. It was the confidence builder many of them needed to fulfill their destiny.

"How far can I travel?" asked one of the eaglets.

"How far can you see?" responded the Master Eagle.

"How high can I fly?" quizzed the young eaglet.

"How far can you stretch your wings?" asked the old eagle.

"How long can I fly?" the eaglet persisted.

"How far is the horizon?" the mentor rebounded.

"How much should I dream?" asked the eaglet.

"How much can you dream?" smiled the older, wiser eagle.

"How much can I achieve?" the young eagle continued.

"How much can you believe?" the old eagle challenged.

Frustrated by the banter, the young eagle demanded, "Why don't you answer my questions?"

"I did."

"Yes. But you answered them with questions."

"I answered them the best I could."

"But you're the Master Eagle. You're supposed to know everything. If you can't answer these questions, who can?"

"You." The old wise eagle reassured.

"Me? How?" the young eagle was confused.

"No one can tell you how high to fly or how much to dream. It's different for each eagle. Only God and you know how far you'll go. No one on this earth knows your potential or what's in your heart. You alone will answer that. The only thing that limits you is the edge of your imagination."

The young eagle puzzled by this asked, "What should I do?"

"Look to the horizon, spread your wings, and fly."

Don't Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,

When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,

When the funds are low and the debts are high,

And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,

When care is pressing you down a bit,

Rest! if you must; but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,

As everyone of us sometimes learns,

And many a failure turns about

When he might have won had he stuck it out;

Don't give up, though the pace seems slow;

You might succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than

It seems to a faint and faltering man,

Often the struggler has given up

When he might have captured the victor's cup.

And he learned too late, when the night slipped down,

How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out;

The silver tint of the clouds of doubt;

And you never can tell how close you are,

It may be near when it seems afar;

So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit;

It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.

The present is perfect ...

(copy of email I received)

Perhaps one of coaching legend Thomas Leonard's most challenging and paradoxical observations is that "the present is perfect, even if you think it's not!" It's one of those provocative statements that sets off all the "yeah but" alarms in our heads:

"Yeah but I hate where I am."

"No way buster am I accepting that THIS present is perfect!"

"You're crazy!"

"How can that possibly be?"

"This is just wrong!"

Recognize any of those statements of protest? I do. Just this morning as I sat at my desk wondering what on earth I might possibly write about this week, at least some version of those swirled around in my head. But in one of those half-second pauses between protests, Thomas' provocative idea popped into my head and "Eureka!" This week's MMC had found me!

So I'm guessing that you have something happening in your life or business right now that seems less than perfect....anything BUT what you want, right? So how can it be perfect? Because perfect doesn't necessarily mean desirable or wanted or likeable. Perfect means: that which is true for us right now. It means facing that truth, accepting it, allowing it, letting go of our resistance to it, and accepting it. And that can only be done in the present.

So maybe you're in a predicament right now....

Your job

A client

A health issue

A schedule that's too full

A relationship challenge

A personal or professional loss of some kind

And what, you ask, is the perfection in any of that? The perfection is that life has given you what it has. The perfection is that the particular set of circumstances you face is serving your greater good in some way. Your job, our job is to accept its perfection even if it doesn't make sense. Like I said, it's paradoxical.

So my invitation this week is to give up the struggle. Stop resisting and start embracing. And what happens when you give up resistance and instead accept your present in all of its "anything but this" glory? Well, I can only relate my experience and that of many, many clients I've coached over the years. That is, when you let go of the struggle created by resistance, the perfection of the universe moves forward and you can begin to see new ways of changing your circumstances, growing yourself, influencing others. And whatever shows up next, remember that's perfect too...perfect for helping you learn and grow in the ways you need to.

It's like that child's toy, Chinese handcuffs, where you put your index fingers in opposite ends of a little woven straw tube. The more you resist by trying to pull your fingers out, the tighter the tube grips each finger. But the moment you stop struggling and fighting, in that moment the tube loosens and you easily remove your fingers.

Remember, the only way out is through. And the secret to getting through your present circumstances is to accept them, perfect them, embrace them moment by moment. I invite you to take a deep breath and start perfecting now, because truly, the present is perfect.

Have a "perfect" week!

Faith...

Faith is not necessary when you know how things are going to work out, - that's knowledge....

It's in the time of unknowing that having faith is what sees you through to the other side. Faith is what gives you strength. Faith is that light in your heart that keeps on shining even when it's all darkness outside. Now is the time to keep that faith alive!

sisterhood...

SISTERHOOD

Time passes.
Life happens.
Distance separates.
Children grow up.
Jobs come and go. Love waxes and wanes.
Men don't do what they're supposed to do.
Hearts break. Parents die.
Colleagues forget favors. Careers end.
BUT........ Sisters are there, no matter how much time and how
many miles are between you. A girl friend is never farther away
than needing her can reach. When you have to walk that lonesome valley and you have to walk it by yourself, the women in your life will be on the valley's rim, cheering you on, praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on your behalf, and waiting with open arms at the valley's end. Sometimes, they will even break the rules and walk beside you...Or come in and carry you out. Girlfriends, daughters, granddaughters,
daughters-in-law, sisters, sisters-in-law, Mothers, Grandmothers, Granddaughters aunties, nieces, cousins, and extended family, all bless our life! The world wouldn't be the same without women, and neither would I. When we began this adventure called life, we had no idea of the incredible joys or sorrows that lay ahead. Nor did we know how much we would need each other. Every day, we need each other still.
Pass this on to all the women who help make your life meaningful. I just did. Short and very sweet: There are more than twenty angels in this world. Ten are peacefully sleeping on clouds. Nine are playing.
And one is reading this at this moment. "You are all very special to me or I wouldn't be taking the time to send you this!"

thanks Sandy for this email

To get something you never had, you have to do...

Concentrate on this Sentence

'To get something you never had, you have to do
something you never did.' When God takes something
from your grasp, He's not punishing you, but merely
opening your hands to receive something better.
Concentrate on this sentence... 'The will of God will
never take you where the Grace of God will not protect
you.'
